(argh) Saturday morning my daughters 02 Protege5 was the victim of a drive by fruiting. Somebody threw a frozen grapefruit through her back glass. As it happened anywhere from 5 am to 7 am Saturday we can only imagine it was done by: A.Kids, B. Disgruntled fruit vendor, C. Grapefruit diet enthusiest given to hallucinations due to the lack of dietary protien and carbohydrates, D. One armed man. My daughter has vowed revenge as local law enforcement representitives have conceded little can be done (inspite of the latest advances in DNA technology). Estimates range from 265 to 360 to replace back glass. Is this fair?

Frozen grapefruit would be pretty durable and easy to throw. Kinda like if a softball that wasn't hollow.

If that includes the glass (probably from a wrecker) and having it installed, it seems to be an OK price. Of course, I live near Toronto, so deal with 1) Canadian prices and 2) big city prices.

You could also see if you can find a local hatch in the same colour, good chance that would be be cheaper.

Bastards. My msp was once the victim of a drive by egging, along with the rest of the neighborhood....man was i furious!!! To this day i still cringe when i'm washing my car and i come to the rear driver door and see all the little eggshell marks where my paint is missing!!!

Sucky. About a year ago, some kids were shooting cars with a bb gun. They hit something like 100+ cars. In my neighborhood, we have little ponds to fish in. I parked my p5 and about 30 mins later, I see the back quarter window shattered. I was pissed and the bb hit my interior trim and made a permanent indentation.

Messing with people's cars is a no-no. Especially for people that take pride in what they drive. I would punch someone in the face before Id mess with their car, thats chicken s***.
