TurboXS Downpipe $299.00

Right from turbo xs's website:

catless downpipe= $299.99
catless testpipe= $129.99

http://www.turboxs.com/shop_car4.php?car=18

So you're looking at $430.00 retail for both pieces. I'm sure from some vendors you could get a better price too

I'm curious about quality and fitment at that price though

Edit- i don't know why the thumbs down got put on but it was by mistake

The racepipe is $139 now...$156.50 shipped...

Even if you could ,you should not have disclosed that info publically like that.

Why, what harm would that cause to anyone here on the site. Maybe other local members could also be interested too and get a good price also? I've never heard of anyone saying something like that before, giving forum members a heads up to get a good deal on a product that is in intrest i've never seen being frowned upon on any other forum. I'm just confused i guess about the response.

and does TXS include a new exhaust/DP gasket? and a DP/RP gasket?

anybody installed one yet? how good are the instructions?

It does come with the gasket for the down pipe to the race pipe. And actually the there arent any instructions in mine. I am installing it this saturday and will let you all now. It did not come with the O@ diodes either. I am going to be talking with them today about needing the instructions and asking them about the diodes aswell. I will keep you informed.

Do our cars require a CAI in order to achieve the 40whp with the DP&RP or is that an extra recomended option.

Here you go...

why is the turbo flange a different color than the rest of the pipe? different materials?

cast bellmouth housings for DP's is a well proven design. Its used by PDE, Cobb, AVO, and TXS obviously. Probably others too.

A cast housing typically mutes the waste-gate fluttering sound. There haven't been any frequent cases of cracking or problems with such DPs in the Subaru community that I'm aware of.

yeah the flange and housing are cast, and the rest is just mandrel bent pipe. Same materials I'm sure, however

Nice, but I would prefer the CPE DP:
One piece made from the exhaust to the end of the 2nd CAT.

The CPE DP isn't one piece. It looks to be many pieces welded together to form it. That's just more chances for cracks and leaks from a weld failure.
