Im really thinking about turboing my car like really really thinking about it but im not sure price wise to get it installed or how hard it really would be to install it well any who had it installed can you tell me what you paid..and any one who has intalled on tell me how it is asap thanks

Installing the a turbo kit is not as challenging as you might think. it takes 6-10 hours depending on mechanical ability, and the tools you have.
Mental Addiction charges $500 to install one of its turbo kits, but that isn't an option for you because of the distance, but that is a quote. I've also heard as high as $1000 quoted. good luck in your search for a good quote, but honestly it would be much better to have a friend who has experience help you because you can often have it installed for a case of beer.

If you are a competent mechanical and patient person you can do it. It is better to have someone help when you have to put your front bumper back on after the intercooler install. I did mine by myself and it took about 45mins just to get the bumper situated back without tearing the little tabs off. Pulling off the oil pan an drilling it for a oil return line. Basic tools and a second vehicle to run to the harware/auto parts store.

$1900 is an awesome deal and with the money you would save you could buy a full 3" turbo back and you're done.

Yeah a 1000$ is the min I have seen and I priced alot of diffeent places around the Bronx, Long Island and Staten island. Usually if you buy a kit from some one that will do it at a different price, usually from what I saw at least half.

The maintenance and attention that an aftermarket turbo kit involves I would say if you were not capable of installing it, I would not recommend purchasing one in the first place. Unless you have a money tree at home and every time you hear a funny noise or something you can take it in to the shop to get checked out.
I'm not saying don't do it. Just if you look at all the posts on here, there is alot of things that can go wrong because of the simplest thing. At least if you do the install yourself and you do have something going on acting funny you already know what you're looking at and maybe have an idea before you even look under the hood.

first, installing it yourself is more rewarding, and if you run into any problems you have a lot more ideas where the problem is coming from whereas you have it installed by a shop and you get a leak youre not exactly sure where the **** its coming from.
that being said you can also use the money to buy other things like forged parts, exhaust, and all the problems youll run into.

i agree with matthew (did i say that hahah), it was a challenge and extremely rewarding, although frustrating at the same time. anyway, would i do it again, yes. i went into it with both eyes wide open, so i wasn't disapointed when i hit a bump here and there. also this isn't really off the shelf stuff, it's custom for the most part...that figures into it too!
