Turbo Rotary Mazda B2600i Minitruck Build!

SICK!

I don't know much about painting, other than my car needs a paint job. I was wondering if my 10 gallon compressor would be enough to spit out a descent job..?

It is never going to be in a car show, but really needs to be re-painted.

what do you think?

So what happened to the B while it was on the trailer overnight? Did the airbags deflate causing the tie rods to strip? I don't remember you having that much bad toe in the beginning.

Looks good. I wasnt really digging the new color on the fender you showed earlier but i really like it in those pics.
most people choose super flashy colors for their minis. i wanted people to appreciate the work put into and not just see a bright color and be like whoa, thats a lime green mazda. not to mention, the turbo and rhd draw people in pretty good haha..

a 10 gallon compressor will not be enough to paint your car my friend...

the threads on the tie rod ends r stripped out pretty good. i tried to fix them with a tap and die set, but to no avail. so basically in the pics, the straps r pulling the tires in and making the toe worse than it actually is since i am using vice grips to hold the tie rods in the spindles! the front end is coming apart soon for new bushings and a fresh rebuild!

what made u choose that color?
i have always been a real big fan of earth tones on vehicles, and like i said above, its not flashy. just simple and clean! well, for now atleast...

Awesome update
thanks u sir!

well, nobody has checked in in awhile, but i guess ill post up pics..

first off, heres the turbo mounted with the hardware that a guy on another site hooked me up with! fastenal wanted $130 for 4 grade 8 studs. i got 8 from this guy with nuts two day air included for $60!

well, i hope i made u guys proud. i took home a couple of trophies! i got 2nd place in the under construction category, and also won by a landslide on furthest distance traveled!

heres a pic from the porch of my buddies cabin that we stayed in after the show down in noel missouri. can u say Blair Witch much?

well, on the way home, we stopped in denver after a 14 hour drive and went to the aquarium and did some other stuff with my daughter. also saw a couple buddies and stayed a couple nights there.

then we headed back on thursday morning. it was 80 degrees when we left denver. by the time we hit evergreen it was snowing and about 34 degrees. it snowed all the way to glenwood springs and then turned to rain there. it rained the rest of the way home.

ill put it to u this way-- i have been to nearly every state, and colorados roads are by far the worst i have ever driven on. there are massive potholes, they are always doing road construction, and there are tons of overpasses and bridges that have a giant lip where the road and the bridge surface meet up.

needless to say, the truck got pretty hammered on the way back. kinda sad that it made almost 1800 miles unscathed and the last 250 it got totally obliterated!

from denver to home( about a 4 hour drive) i broke all my bed mounts and bolts off, broke all the supports for the bed floor off and pretty much trashed the sheetmetal on my bed corners.

i was not a happy camper...

notice the bottom of the bed. CRUNCHED!

there is good to come out of this! i have been really wanting to put a tailgate and a rear bumper back on this truck, and just so happens one of my fellow mazda buddies has a spare unmolested bed! so i have to cut out the bedfloor of my bed and get busy on the other bed whenever he gets it over here. no harm no foul....

took awhile to get the truck off the trailer, but we did it. also cleaned my messy ass garage and got both mazdas parked in there!

the height difference is crazy considering the tan mazda is lowered quite a bit also!

as for whats happening next with this truck--

i am on a saving spree right now. i have been talking to a few tuners and a few very reputable rotary performance shops about getting this engine rebuild and street ported and painted and polished up!

also been looking into standalone ems for this truck. both of which are quite expensive! so i figure i need to save $10K to get this truck up and running, so i will be selling random s*** and maybe working with some businesses to hopefully get sponsored for some parts!

i am also going to need to get my intercooler and oil cooler setups done and also some sort of exhaust, but in the meant time(since its already cold as balls here) i am planning on pulling the cab and getting the floor completely done and the bottom of the cab completely plated in. and of course working on a new bed during the winter months...

hope u guys enjoy, and ill try and keep updates headed your way!

Another great update! I dunno if it's just the size of the 13B in the bay, but that turbo looks pretty massive, lol.

Truck looks awesome man!!! Congrats on the trophies! Definitely well deserved. Sorry to hear about the damage to your truck though. I've heard that Colorado roads were pretty bad but I didn't know they were that bad. Keep us updated on the build and on any FS threads you start up. I got a buddy fixing up a B2000 and he might be interested in some parts.

Talking about parts, is still possible to get me some of those 13BT conversion mounts? The truck is looking sick by the way.(2thumbs)

whatever parts he needs, I'm sure I have them!

I have damn near a whole parts truck in my back yard haha.

Check out www.motivefab.com for the mounts! Mine were custom made for the lasrge bodydrop!
Hell yeah! Nice job, man! Your little girl looks like she's the BAWSS (BOSS) in that picture.
Lol. Today is her 2nd birthday, and I'm out of town for work. Sucks!

But she is definitely the boss, and I love her to death!

truck is looking great. sucks about the damage on the return trip though. also im really diggin the trophy for the most miles traveled

I've checked MotiveFab, Adam says he discontinued the mounts for lack of interest. Just in case your wondering i'm the guy who contacted you on Mazdatruckin about the mounts & Turbo mani a while back. I'm still building my motor so it will be a while until I need them, just wondering if your offer still stands seeing as though your prodject appears to be near completion.

well, my keg is hopefully gonna be getting pulled and being sent off to be rebuilt here within the next few months, so as soon as the engine is out i can for sure build u the mounts! I think i might make some changes to the manifold, so after that, im sure i could still fab u up one of those as well as long as u dont mind if its tig welded or not....

stay in touch with me like i said before, and we can work something out for sure!
