Only problem is FM hasn't done a test fit on a auto car yet. I believe SPOOLs kit has worked on autos.
Keyserscott, you seem to want a kit that is going to be reliable and work well with an auto and not destroy anything. Why don't you consider SPOOL stage 1? It doesn't have an intercooler, and you run 4.5psi yielding about 160whp. Terry has come out and said that these are the kits that people have had the least amount of trouble with. There are so many less pieces with the kit (No extra piping, no FMIC and trying to mount the damn thing). I would consider it. In fact if I go turbo, I'd definitely do Stage1 first, just to get a feel for it, and upgrade if I got cash later.

thats what I was told once by terry. there was a whole big thing on that (search). believe me, id rather save the money but is it safe?? with terry's kit non intercooled i could save 900$ plus his install cost is 699$ non intercooled.
Plus Spool is much closer to you than FM. GA to CO... wouldn't want to make that drive 
I too have a Sport Shift auto and I am debating on getting a larger exhaust or not. Figure the stock will save me money AND keep the torque and HP in a safer range.
Something scares me about owning an auto and pushing close to 200 Torque at the wheels.
Oh and either which way, a tranny cooler is a must for me.
btw... doesn't hiboost's haltech only control the fuel delivery and not the ignition? I thought so but not sure.

As far as 200 torque being a scary idea. Yeah, I guess it kind of is. That is why with my kit, we are still tuning it. I can tell you right now, that it's a hell of a learning process. Alot of it, is trying something, road test, trying something else, road test, lather, rinse, repeat.

I couldn't agree more. But, the stock automatic protege's have a built in tranny cooler, and I can tell you that I am checking my tranny fluid quite often, not having any problems yet.

WShade, I think he was referring to FM needing to test fit on an auto P5 (or comparable 2.0 L).
If I am not mistaken, AustinJohn's is a 1.8 auto and they didn't keep the measurements for the IC piping. At least I believe this is the case.

so ummm.... what the hell happened to Perfworks and his prototypes??? did something go wrong because I thought that all these "test fitting" cars would be done by now? Did something go wrong? And does Perfworks still live cause he hasnt said a word for ages???
Yeah, the kit is on. I've been driving it for the past week or so. Fitment is fine, no issues there. The piggyback is in, as well as the extra injectors - still working on the fuel map. This weekend was a mess for me, (worked from 8am thursday till 5am friday - messed up my sleep hours severely, hell I'm going home tonight and taking two Somalgesic, gonna fix my sleep hours), so I didn't make it to the shop. I'll likely be going there tonight, but only for a couple hours. My car is dirty, very dirty, haven't washed it since I drove down to Atlanta, plus - I decided I want to change the color of the piping anyway. As soon as I think it looks good, I'll have some pics for everyone to see.
