I live just outside of Toronto, Canada.

I test drove the P5 for the first time on saturday. While talking to the dealer he said that Mazda will be releasing a limited edition turbo charged pretege5 late this summer!

Has anyone else heard about this?

To be honest, I highly doubt it. I read a newsletter from Mazda on a website, and they explained the future plans for motor design(the 2.3) but mentioned nothing about turbo in the 2.0 P5. They mentioned something about the MP3 and turbocharging. Also, something about the AWD not being released to the American market because it will cut into the Tribute slaes, blah blah blah.
But the Turbo P5 isn't slated for this year at least. Maybe next, or the year after. But I think Mazda (like all other car comapniies) will try to exploit this design first before making any cosmetic or tecnical changes.

Would I be incorrect in the assumption that if they plan on smacking a turbo on the MP3, then one could have a dealer installed MP3 turbo put on their P5 (with warranty, I might add)?

If you here of anything about the turbo p5 can you let me know. Thanks "Steveosborne2001@yahoo.com"

p.s. I'm from Ottawa

actually when i talked to the dealer in windsor recently he said something about that as well. i think he refered to it as a protege S instead of 5. :D :D :D

I live in toronto aswell i still have to get my license but am looking to get this car. But I think the Protege S is really the Sport-20 wagon. But I think if a turbo kit dcomes out we wouldn't need a turbo edition but it would be nice for the ppl who dun want to mod and just get ir for the horsepower.
