Turbo install this WEEK

Well guys, I'm finally gonna get this s*** started and hopefully finished. I have a 3 day weekend and plan on getting the mazdaspeed kit in the p5 finally. I'm no mechanic, although I'm not a complete noob when it comes to cars, so any help is greatly appreciated. I'm gonna have a bunch of my car guys helping me, they know their s***, but their honda guys so MSP knowledge would be great. So basically, if you're free this weekend and wanna help out a fellow mazda brother and learn a thing or two(I know I will!) lemme know and I'll shoot ya pm with my address. I'll most likely end up grilling too, so burgers, dogs and cold beverages for all attendees! I live in Rhode Island for those that didn't know. Wish me luck!

I definitely plan on taking lots of pictures, as far as a how-to goes....that depends on how lazy I get!

Well I have an oil pan already tapped I bought from Beau. If it gives me trouble I'll tap the crank girdle.

Damn Justin, I've got tons of house stuff to do, otherwise I'd be there.
good luck.

Thanks B, except after talking to Tony(terbow) last night, I found out I still need the oil cooler. The part isn't listed on the turbo parts list for the speed so I never ordered it. Soooo, now I'm not sure what to do...

No, I was told I need the stock msp oil cooler. And like I said, I wasn't aware there even was one that came on it stock, because it's not listed on the turbo components parts list. Here's a pic of what I was shown. Any input?

wow...i never knew that it was needed...are you sure it't not something that is already on your p5...or something that both p5s and msps have...

idk if you NEED that...just another way to cool the oil or something of your choice... anywho that is a msp specific part...p5's and sedans dont have that.

Does anyone know if I absolutely need this? Apparently all mazda dealers in the US are out of this part, so if I need it I'm absolutely ******. (pissed) I have all the water and coolant lines attached to the turbo already, but I'm not sure if I have the oil coolant lines. Anyone have any pics of them?

EDIT: Here are some pics of my turbo with the lines. If someone can point out the oil cooler lines, or where they'd go if they're not on there it'd be appreciated!

to run a turbo i dont think you need that....all that is, is an oil cooler. im about 99% sure it has nothing to do with the turbo. as long as you have a way to cool your turbo you should be good. if i were you and running the thing everyday in traffic i would suggest some type of oil cooler (many different kinds) but it is not needed at all... just watch you temps and decide.

Yea, peep the pics of my turbo. I have all the lines for the water cooling for the turbo itself, so I'm really not sure on the oil cooler. Anyone know for sure?

Yea, that's the stock MSP turbo, downpipe and all the lines. I don't believe the oil coolant lines are there, but again, they're not listed on the turbo components part list and I've never seen a pic...HELP!

Bump for a professional opinion. Turbo pics are in the last post on page 1.
