Turbo Exhaust Whistle

Ok call it rice or what ever you want, but i'd really like to have the turbo spool sound through the exhaust similar to the SRT4's i currently have the corksport DP and HKS catback, any ideas on how to get the spool through the exhaust louder? Straight pipe from the turbo back?

A new intake!!! A turbo inlet pipe will help as well. I have the Cobb SRI and it's quite loud...

I dont think a new intake will do the sound throught the exhaust. I had a buddy of mine beside me when i gave it some gas and he said all he heard was sucking and it was really loud so an intake will definetly help with hearing the turbo, of course he was at the front of my car. As far as through the exhuast id imagine you would have to have turbo back exhaust.

my buddy's srt-4 only had the turbo whistle after he installed an AEM intake. stock, you couldn't hear it.

Better flow through the turbo system. Everything from intake to exhaust. Best way to get the sound you're talking about is to have the least restrictive exhaust possible. Try catless (drive2)

Well I have the Cobb Sri, but I'm still using the factory TIP so guess I'll look into upgrading that

Be careful. A few of my friends have said you guys have back-pressure problems that you would need to keep that pipe on. Ask around though.

For max turbo sound, go with a metal TIP (like a PG inlet or the Corksport). I have the Corksport TIP and I accelerate just to hear the turbo spool!
Maybe an aftermarket wastegate too, to let everyone know that you're so fast that you let off the throttle to give them a chance...

Stock SRT's have no muffler. Just a resonator. Buy a muffler-less exhaust or get a bigger turbo. My p5 sounded like that after I put the T4 on.

Yeah right now im running corksport DP, RP, and HKS exhaust, i think im gonna take the muffler off this weekend and see what it sounds like and if i like it ill have a straight pipe fabbed up from the DP back
