Turbo and NA - Let's love them both

Someone posted something from Mazda, perhaps from one of the manuals, that specifically said that it's not an actual switch. Maybe they are reading this thread.

Are you thinking of me? I posted a snippet (post #25) from the online manual for a 22.
IME the "Detent" is the kick down and agree it only triggers the transmission to downshift. Just like every other 4 cylinder I've owned.

My transmission downshifts all the time based on load without putting my foot all the way down. I'll need to do some testing later.

when I want to accelerate I put it in sport mode and mash the pedal and hang on I know mine has the detent but I always figured if it is in sport mode and pedal to the floor no down shifting needed....but I will try it next time I am in a place where I can do it.
