TRZ Rear Mount and Corksport Race Pipe

I just installed the TRZ Rear Mount and Corksport Race Pipe earlier and what a choir. I just had trouble the entire time.

Removing the motor mount from it's perch took way longer than the posted 10-15 minutes. I literally had to pry the damn thing off. Reinstalling the new mount was a breeze though.

Now the "race" pipe was a nightmare. Removing the oem pipe took some wiggling but I eventually got it out. Installing the corksport pipe wasn't too fun either and the fact that the bolts supplied to you are worthless. Removing and reinstalling the bolts numerous time. I had to add several washers in between the bolt/springs to get a tight fit. Yet, still have some exhaust leak between the race pipe and cat back exhaust but I might try some of the exhaust sealer you can get at auto zone.

The mods I have are listed in my sig.

Reviews are positive. Vibes are not bad at all and reminds me of my mustang and sport bikes. You can feel the engine and wheel hop is virtually eliminated, just need to get my Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R installed. Car feels definitely quicker and power pulls to redline.

LMAO! **** Pipe!

But seriously, yeah, getting the stock rear motor mount out isn't too fun, but for me wasn't that bad either, just gotta muscle it a bit.

The race pipe is definitely a tight fit as well. It is made primarily to work with their downpipe and cat back, so yeah, it will probably leak a bit. Mine does, but it's because I used the stock bolts and couldn't get them super tight and it was starting to rain as I finished my install. That and it's winter now. I'm going to get some new bolts from the hardware store in the spring, if I still have the car then...

The thing is, I don't think adding shorter bolts would eliminate the exhaust leak.

That "**** pipe" typo is really hard to get my head around given that the C and the P are on opposite sides of the keyboard.

What are you trying to tell us here?

yeah I bought the corksport **** pipe as well and that's exactly what it did. luckily they are letting me return it. great quality pipe but horrible fitment. I just picked up the street unit one and it fits minty. Just can't see why it cost more than corksport cuz the quality wasn't the greatest. oh well at least it works.

At least it fit correctly, unlike the CS one! But yeah, not a work of art, but it is just a pipe that is hidden under the car.

I tried every permutation possible to get the CS racepipe not to leak..bolt length change, new gaskets, new thicker gaskets, high temp sealant...nothing gave me a leak free seal for more than a week or 2 at most. Stock downpipe plus CS race pipe equals "leak" period. Corksports reply when not downright snotty was to buy their downpipe..better fit per them.

install of the mount is ******* fast and easy if you remove the 3 bolts on that part that attatches the motor mount to the side of the motor, it just slips out if you take that thing off, I too found that out the hard way and pryed like all hell to get the mount out, then when I found out you just have to remove the attatchment its easy as cake.
