TRZ or AWR

So I am finally going to pick up a mount. I have heard that the TRZ causes a lot of vibration. I can live with some, but don't want it to feel that much different than stock. Is the AWR more managable? If the TRZ will break in, I will probably go that route. What do you guys think?

the TRZ does break in but there is certainly more vibration with that one than there is the AWR. if you do go with the AWR do not order the 70 durometer. it is a softer mount with less vibration but we have found that the bushing is too soft for this vehicle's power, while it is perfect for a mazda3 or mazda5 which uses the same basic rear mount.

I went with the TRZ because it looks much "beefier" if you will. The AWR look's like a stocker thats been worked over (maybe it is?).

you are correct, AWR and PTP use a reworked factory shell with thier own proprietary innards

I got the street unit mount and it's perfect. only a very slight increase in vibrations and the throttle response is fantastic.

TRZ!!!

Vibes do decrease...I drove it round trip from Southern VA to RI this week and I noticed.
So did the CT State police!

trz poly..... give it like 500-800 miles to break in, vibes almost completely gone, impossible to notice. It even passed the "b****y little sister in the backseat" test (much stricter than either the wife or gf test)

Hungh...can I exchange mine then? I bought it in a GB through Nutari.

Heheh, j/k. I haven't had any problems with my 70 duro. Probably b/c I haven't driven the car hard enough yet, LOL.

I'll check the mount before and after my DE event at the beginning of April. Gonna go give the TRZ poly a looksee.

if you have any problems with that AWR let me know. i will exchange it for a TRZ if the bushing gives out on you.

Cool, thanks! I knew that in the beginning a few people had had problems with their bushing tearing. Like I said, I don't think I've had any problems with mine. Actually, I was REALLY surprised by post #3.

As usual, (thumb) to Protegegarage!

i was unfortunate enough to brake both duro AWR mounts. thats when i contacted TRZ to get a stronger option for us. over 150 sold.....not one broke !

I am a little uneducated on all of this. Do these parts get rid of wheel hop and motor movement? I am about to get the motor mount recall done on my 07 ms3, is this a different part?

this is a different mount. the recall replaces the driver side trans mount. these replace the lower engine mount. and yes they do help out with wheel hop. one mount wont eliminate it, but it does vastly improve.

Alright, I think I am sold on the poly TRZ. I certainly hope that it does break in enough to not notice it. I really don't want any creaks and I did not buy this car for its massage ability. That said, if I continue to experience wheel hop like I am, I will probably develop some new sounds regardless.

I'm running the AWR 70d mount in the MS3. I ran it in the turbo Mazda3 with over a handful of dynos and more than a dozen 1/4mile runs and beat the hell out of the car every chance I had. It was like brand new when I removed it and is why i bought it again.

It has very little effect on wheel hop as you need qutie a few other upgrades to even come close to getting rid out it. Best thing to do is avoid it as it is probally what broke the few alleged(sp) AWR failures.
