Trouble with foglight install

OK so i just installed my fog light kit, but theres a problem. When the lights are on, theres a pretty loud clicking sound coming from the engine bay, right around the fuse box area. The clicks are in a pattern too it goes like: CLICK-CLICK--CLICK-----------CLICK-CLICK--CLICK------------ and so on. The lights dim slightly at each click. Anyone have any idea what the heck this could be? The only thing i could think of is when I went to find the wire in the steering column, it looked to me (and my buddy) that there were two wires the same (the dark red and black one, from the how-to) So I just picked one, maybe i picked the wrong one?? But the lights do come on.... This is driving me crazy....

Sounds like your relay is going nuts. Take some pictures of your fog light kit.

Well the kit is installed so i can't really take a pic of it. but heres some more info. I went out to put everything back together cause i need to drive my car tonight and things got weird. The same thing as before was happening, so i tried turning off the lights, click the fogs on THEN turning on the lights, and it worked. But when i tried it the other way, headlights on, the tried turning the fogs on, they came on the first couple of times with some dealy, then the next few times i tried this method, the fogs didnt come on at all. so i said screw it for the day and went to button everything back up (put the dimmer switch back in, the fog switch in place and put the plastic around the steering column back together. I tried the fogs again and this time they starting flashing rapidly, like the hazards but faster. Only thing I can think of is I picked the wrong wire in the steering column. But i dont understand while the fogs would work sometimes but not others if it were wired wrong. ANd now they wont turn on at all...
