Trouble getting into reverse

Anybody else having this problem? I have to go into first gear right before I put it into reverse otherwise it won't engage.

Mine is 2.0L 5-speed, ~1900 miles...

i've had that issue before...usually i have to put it back in N, release the clutch, re-engage the clutch and try again. even then it might chomp at the bit a little but then it goes in. might have something to do with the syncronizers not engaging correctly.

Literally took me about 30 tries today to get into reverse gear, was about to put the car in neutral and push to get out of a parking spot. First time it was this bad. I'm taking the car to the dealership tomorrow.

It cannot be the synchronizers because I do it while the car is stopped. Engaging the clutch doesn't affect the transmission much either if the car is stopped.

Just let it sit for a bit and the spinning will slow. if not, just keep putting it in 1st keep it there for a few seconds then go straight to Rev.

It's happened to me a couple of times, but all I had to do was throw it into 2nd and then it easily went into reverse from there.
