Tried to put front logo camera

I tried installing an aftermarket front logo camera on a 2013 Mazda CX-5 (first generation). I tested several types (CVBS, AHD, PAL, etc.), all powered with 12 V, since the original output from the vehicle is 6 V and I didn’t use it during testing. In every case, the image on the OEM screen constantly flickers. I’d like to know if anyone has successfully installed a front camera on this model and solved the flickering issue while keeping compatibility with the original head unit. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You should check the video wires...

From: OEM Backup Cam with Aftermarket Stereo

Counter to all intuition and accepted color code usage (Huh Mazda??), the wiring to the factory connector is as follows:
  • the Red wire in the connector (6C) is the negative video signal
  • the Black wire (6D) is the positive video signal.
  • the White wire is the 6V supply to the camera
  • and the black shrink-sleeved braid wire is the ground (0V supply)

I can tell you that if you swap the video wires, such that red is positive (as I did originally), you'll get a very corrupted video signal... virtually total noise.

I've been powering the cameras with the backup lights. All of these cameras are 12V. Although the multimedia unit has a 6V output, a step-up could be used to convert it to 12V. But I haven't tried this method. Video polarity issue + and - when I connect the opposite way on the screen no type of image appears, not even distorted. I also did another test by powering the rear OEM camera with a 6v adapter and connecting it to a TV, but I also didn't receive any image. The idea was to have the TV indicate the type of signal with the input, whether it is NTSC or PAL, etc. But without success. I'm really frustrated, I want to solve this problem. I see on the Internet that they buy cameras and install them without any problem on the back, and these cameras are CVBS. I even bought several to know the result. But I wasn't successful. I don't want to change the multimedia unit.I thank everyone in advance for their support and help in solving this problem. Blessings.

why don't you try the OEM front camera that's stock in some countries?
I have an OEM camera, it's on the back. The idea is to put a camera on the front logo. But if we use the stock rearview camera, the image won't be displayed correctly. That's the reason we use an aftermarket camera. Aftermarket cameras have mirror image function by cutting a cable etc. I'm almost sure Mazda requires an NTSC-J signal.
