So I found the time and weather over 20 degrees to install the Tri Point sway bar. The stock Mazdaspeed 3 sway bar provides around 470pounds per inch. The Tri-Point swaybar provides a 3-hole adjustment factor for fine tuning; hole #1 is 750 pounds per inch, hole #2 is 825 pounds per inch and hole #3 is 1000 pounds per inch. I set it to the firmest setting. The install took a total of twenty minutes and that with breaks to drink and smoke. Its four bolts and two nuts. You only need a 14mm socket for the base braces and a 17mm open ended wrench and a 5mm allen for the end links. Tools any car enthusiast should have on hand at all times.
On the drive home I almost kept on driving. It was absolute bliss. Any hint of understeer seems to have faded away. You can absolutely feel the difference and the turn in is exactly on point with almost zero roll. There is a right turn on my way home that I usually take at 30mph and I drift to the 2nd lane everytime. This time I took it at 35mph while still on the throttle and kept it in the right lane without any question of understeer. I think I will be adjusting the front end up an eighth to a quarter inch and dripping the back a full quarter inch tomorrow and bringing the damping up a little. That should pretty much be a perfect set up.
Im open to all comments good or bad.
