Tri-point Mazda 3

:
Mazda Protege 5
I was there a while back and they were doing a custom turbo kit for a blue Mazda 3 hatch. I was wondering if that belonged to anyone on the forum. It looked like a sick install but wasn't nearly done yet. Just wondering.

Blue? The last time i was there it was a Ti. Looked sleeper. Will they be updating it to produce more power since the MS3's specs are way beyond the intended 210hp?

they had done a protege kit as well but i dont think it ever reached intended production due to many major design problems

Brian it's not a customers car, this kit is intended to be smog legal when done.

The major problem was that areodyne, the turbo that we used went out of business and we never sourced out another company.

The Ti was finished before it got to us. We were just looking at the design of the intercooler piping. The car dyno'd at 217 WHP safely with a motec system on it.

so when is the kit expected to be ready for production? and what kind of numbers are you expecting?

It's going to be a while, the project is basically spare time that we have from our motorsports program... So whenever the cars aren't being worked on, then the mazda 3 gets worked on. I'm not 100% sure on the numbers we are expecting. It's based on emissions.

Wow you guys are at Canoga Park. I'm subscribing just to see what kind of numbers this would have and still be emissions legal in CA.
