so i took my car to the dealership wednesday because there was a noise coming from my tranny. It sounded like i was dragging a stick or something, but i wasnt, it was a noise coming from the trans. So i took it in and they couldnt hear the noise, of course. So i spoke with the technician and explained that you can hear it at idle and very slow easy accelerating. IF you push the gas it goes away. Still he told me nothing was wrong and that they car drove fine. so i said whatever, must have took it imagining that something was wrong. The next day i make it to work fine, still making the noise but i made it. I leave work, get two miles away from the job site and im stopped at a light, go to take of and the car studders and shudders like the clutch was slipping and catching and slipping and catching, shift to second, shift to third, BOOM. No more gears the car shut off and there's an awful grinding, loud noise coming from the car. So i push the clutch in and drift up the road. Car is still stuck in gear so im yankin the shifter around and finally get it into neutral somehow. i push the car up a little hill and into a parking lot. i want to turn the ac on so i start the car up and its still in neutral. go to let out the clutch and the noise is still happening.
WHAT HAPPENED??!?!

Oh and i waited two freaking hours for the tow truck and took the car 30 mins away to the dealer and they told me they didnt have anyone to look at my car, to see if its covered by warranty so i couldnt get a loaner car, meanwhile im 45 mins from my apartment. Thank you mom, for letting me use your truck (yippy)

Possibly LSD?? These break all the time in our cars. Sounds like it might be more to it then that though. Maybe LSD and who knows what else?

i thought about that but with the lsd, cant you still engage into every gear? im thinking maybe it was a shift fork that shattered.

I second the shift fork... Pretty common... Sorry for the bad news. Either way you might need a new tranny becayse it sounds pretty bad...

yeah it has to be something along with the shift fork. But that will be covered by warranty (i hope). So its alright

so it turns out it was the main shaft bearing in the trans. looks like im getting a new trans and clutch while im at it.
