Transmission Fluid

Yeah the shifter linkage would be a waste of time. All you really need is the 23mm socket, and a funnel with a very long hose to snake it down from the top of the engine bay.

And just a word of advice, make sure you have something with you to clean up a mess. Everytime I have changed my fluid, I've made a mess with on the ground under the fill hole, or underneith the hood when I take the long funnel tube out. Tranny fluid smells bad..lol

Well you can actually take out the shifter in the car and fill it that way its much much quicker. But thank you, now I wont get too confused.

Wow... think before you post.

A thing to think about too.

1. Magnetic Drain Plugs work great...
2. Drive the car just before dumping the Oil...
3. Add a bit after dumping the oil and before the plug goes back in to "Flush" the last bit.
4. Fill it to the fill hole, Let the overfill run out and Cap it.

When I changed over to MT90, I expected overfill at about 2.9 qts. But mine took the whole 3 qts and didn't overfill. I was on basically level driveway. But if I was off level and have 0.1 extra in there, no harm right?

Extra is fine, The Tranny basically functions like a Diff, the oil is carried by the gears all over. As long as you arent trying to fit 5 Quarts in there by filling the car on a 45 Deg ramp, there will be no harm done. Even massive overfilling will simply blow out seals which are easy to replace.

Speaking of magnetic drain plugs, do you know where to get one for our oil plugs? They couldn't find one at the car parts shop I went to.

Yup, The hole is basically a universal size. I got one on my tranny the last time I changed the oil, You have to make sure that the magnet that sticks out does not hit any gears and you will be fine.
