transmission compatibility

I know this has been beaten to death but im looking at just pricing / availability to have another tranny on hand and all the protg / p5 transmissions say: "exc. mazdaspeed, transmission mounted speed sensor"

Can I just swap my sensor in when replacing the entire trans?? I don't need to find a speed tranny do I? that would be stupid..

I can use: any 99-03 protg trans? 626 trans? protg5 trans?

Any transmission from an FS powered car from 93+, so that means Probe, MX6, 626, Protg, Protege5...
