translation please...

looks like a mazda3 with nice seats and a engine start button.

Edit: (hand) lol I scrolled down! I'm an idiot.

Don't know what you mean by translate, but here's the history lesson:

The RX-8 had several prototypes - from the RX-EVOLVE in 1999 all the way to the final production-spec introduced at the 2003 NAIAS.

The RX-8 prototype from your link was shown to the world at the 2001 Tokyo autoshow. The purpose of this vehicle at that autoshow was to announce that this suicide-door rotary-engined vehicle was approved for production and would be called the RX-8. The first fruits of Mazda's millenium plan were shown at the '01 Tokyo autoshow - introduction of the Atenza/Mazda6 and confirmation of production of the RX-8. In many people's eyes, Mazda stole that autoshow.

So given that this pic was a '01 prototype, it was relatively close to production (but if you look closely you'll notice some differences between it and the final production-spec).

Translation of the first section:

Rotary "8" Japan-style

Two weeks later, after the premiere of another, now fourth, RX-8 concept car, Mazda officially announced that the rotary "eight" will be launched into production.
Mazda RX-8 is a four-door, four-seat coupe with original freestyle doors without a central pillar. The Japanese stayed true to the classic configuration: engine in the front, rear drive wheels. The new two-rotor engine Renesis, with a displacement of 2x654 cubic cm, develops a maximum power of 250hp at 8500rpm, a maximum torque of 220N/m at 7500rpm.
For optimal weight distribution across the axles (50:50) and a lower center of gravity, the engine was moved 60mm to rear and 40mm lower, compared to the model RX-7. To lower [loaded??] mass, the carbon axle is made from composite materials. The engineers claim that the car's suspension (independent strut up front and multlink in the rear) is developed to provide sophisticated drivers genuine satisfaction. Traction control is an optional feature.
Mazda RX-8 will be larger and more expensive than the currently-produced rotary-powered RX-7. The beginning of small-series production is scheduled for the end of 2002.

Pardon the coarseness of the translation :)
