Trailer Hitch?

Tink - try the new Klein or a Fisher Sugar - light, duallie, more XC than DH or freeride, but probably much lighter than yours... I've got the old URT Klein, I like it but it's a really strange design.

haha, i just realised i bought my car (2nd hand) with a tow pack on it, i just don't have the tow pack!!! hoorah, i found one just lying around (i bought my old 85 civic with a tow pack - go figure)

hmm maybe i should stop driving places and use my canondale!!

I put a Saris Guardian 3 trunk mount on the trunk of my MSP, it too clears the wing.
Pants and I had this conversation on the toprotege.com website.
No problems so far, and I carry a 2003 Klein Palomino Race Disc on the back. It weighs about 27 pounds.
I just got a digi cam, so i'll take pics next time it's on the car.
I was thinking about a trailer receiver, but decided against it due to cost and the fact that i will never be towing anything with the MSP.
Got a demo from Rack Attack for about $120 CDN.
Happy trails!

Pics of my bike on the car this weekend (what a great ride!). It always feels very secure to me.

HI jrodhotrod go the hitch man roof racks look s*** on a sporty trunk rack to much setting up and i have seen alot of paint damaged in the long run because of the strapes and rack moving around.
I have been into bikes for years and seen the lot.
With my hitch it comes out under the bar(no cutting)the hitch neck and ball removes in mins(two bolts) and the rest of it can not be seen for when just cruising.
I use a thule three bike rack as in pic i am gone before the other guys get their trunk racks out to fit the bike on it and nothing comes near my car even with three bikes on it all big bikes too DownHillers.

i'm sure both behind the car options are good, but you might mess up ya resale a bit with a towing hitch on there - go for one with a flat gooseneck, rather than a pipe holder/box - like tunnel rats

tunnel rat save your pics as jpg!!! hey man is that pic at mascot??

Hey Ahbllm had to go with a pipe holder shape neck to get some hight as droped car 1 3/4in most racks would not get the bikes up high of the ground still a bit low as big bikes 6-7in travel.
Resale just sold my honda pelude that was one of my selling points nice light tow hitch for bike rack got top dollar for it.
that pic is in Botany (close) work in mascot.
hey i think it is in jpg is it ? its got jpg after the pic.

oh s*** it is too... took ages, damn dial up no broadband available here!! i'm half way to newcastle hmm i wass thinking you'd have scrapeage issues with that box thing

Yaah tunnel rat I can't view your avatars at work! Damn. Funny shot though.

Hitch will have no effect at resale - just remove it. Heck - by the time I resell the hitch will ADD value.

Sweet bike !!!!!

Thx man but i think we both got sweet bikes very close on spec both built for same job i have all ways liked the R/M (rockon)

yeah dennis it can.... just don't overload the trailer... esp if you have an auto, autos are a bit sketchy with trailers... but should all be good, my hitch has a capacity of 700kg, so this is still hard to get!!!

dennis_protege5

Both Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite make hitches for the P5. Bolt on with no modifications. I am using the Hidden Hitch version
