traded in my Mazdaspeed for an SRT

thanx for being nice to me, since im the enemy now. lol. but as u stated, i wanted a car the was ready to go out of the box. my mazda dealer told me, "if u do ANYTHING to this car it can void the warrenty". i know the warrenty rules and stuff. i just didnt like the hassle. its easier said than done when it comes to battling the dealer. damn that orange was pretty. i just wanted a faster car. 6.9psi? thats not alot for a turbo car. but the mazdaspeed did have all the bells and whistles. i cant down the car other than the engine and lack of aftermarket and Mazda support.

I would never be able to get over the fact that it's a NEON.....they're notoriously one of the most recalled POS cars ever produced....throwing a turbo and an exhaust on it doesn't change that fact.....one of my old GF's had a fast domestic once....it was a Pontiac Grand Prix turbo....fast as balls going straight but it was in the shop every god damn week. I wouldn't necessarily call this a flame, but anyone here who knows how horribly built domestics still are (don't believe the hype) I wouldn't drive one under ANY circumstance. But hey, if it's what you want, then that's all that matters I guess....I mean my neighbor just got all hyped about buying a new Mustang GT.....ugh!

SRT-WHAT ? I still get calls from dealers I was asking about the SRT. Piss on the damn thing, DCX took too damn long to release it here, wouldnt give me any info, and Its just a neon with :D

(ino ino the MSP is JUST a protege, but a protege is a hell of alot nicer then the Turd )

J/K bro I hope your happy with your new vehicle. It is a FAST ASS MACHINE. :D enjoy

Let me begin by saying even Dodge dealers want to hide the fact that the SRT-4 is still just infact a NEON. I test drove one a few days ago on my lunch break and I made a comment at one point about being suprised that there was that much power put into a NEON. The sales guy (who knew less about the car than I did) said, "Its not a NEON, its the new SRT-4." I told him not to bulls*** me, its obviously a NEON, and he said that in the meeting to "get to know the car," they were told to downplay the fact that it is a NEON. Sad, thats all I can say. That being said . . . twztdmazdaspeed, if your happy with your new car, who cares wtf I or anyone else thinks. As long as you get in the drivers seat and feel good about your car, good for you. My Pro 5 gives me that joy, despite only having 130 NA ponies. (I wouldn't trade it for an SRT-4 if you paid me, but thats just me!)

Being Happy is is what's important....

That's what matters most. Life is too short. Obviously; we hate to lose you as a MAZDASPEED owner; but congrats on your new found happiness! :D

Loony turds...

Oh how the sirens call of the straight line has slain another.
Well at least you will have a car that goes well with Nazkar, Ka-oors lite, and
them pork rinds. You can beat the cops back to your trailer now after another wife beating episode at the local Goat stumpers club well provided the road doesnt take too many extreme turns along the way.
Dodge engineer answers a pissed off SRTurd-4 owner What you wanted it to turn to!
Dont worry about those turns son just think how cool youll look drifting into a tree.
Then a little black MSP drives by this turd-impaled tree with a quick double tap to his horn BEEP BEEP; like the roadrunner to Wylie E. Coyote. Of course then we have to have the cop at the seen look a the camera and go in perfect piganese Dadubada Dubada Thats all Folks.

Hey I love my car and don't have single problem but if I did maybe I would feel differently. Good luck with the ,"Why is there corn in my seat?" mobile. :D

Like they say " The straights are for the amatuers.
The corners are for the professionals."

Scamp: I test drove a Neon and same deal; when I exited the corners and tried to apply power the inside tyre just went wild. No one has autocrossed one by me yet so I havent seen what they can do but im not too worried

The strength of the SRT-4 on autocrosses has yet to truly been seen, but don't count it out. Pass Neons most notably the ACR have ruled SCCA since they were introduced. Sadly though they seem to be getting rid of this car that was designed by Auto crossers for Auto crossers. Believe the pass Neons holds around 31+ SCCA Championships and other records.

Seems Dodge left off some components on purpose to keep the car in the price range. Where the MSP lacked in power they made up for in slightly better handling. And thus the Neon left off some handling for the more power.
Now which is easier to gain back? Power or Handling. The Neon's chassis is still solid and well built so little flex to worry about there.
It currently runs zero camber and strangely sized tires. Swap a new set of rubber on there and a camber adjustment plate plus buy the upgraded Limited Diff to be offered and bam you should have a good Auto crosser.
And beauty of it all.....Dodge is actually offering those parts (limited diff, turbo upgrades etc.)

Should be some good compention coming up for you MSP guys to tool around with. Hopefully swelled heads don't over come and everyone can get along. After all you are all there to enjoy a sport and thus have common ground. Enjoy the ride..

How much did the SRT-4 cost and how much did they give you for the MSP?
Yeah, I was kind of curious also- how much did you end up losing on the deal since you traded a new car in- had to be upside down a bit depending on downpayment.. Just curious since the idea to do the same has crossed my mind a few times. Thanks.

Do u kick ur women to the curb if they have a couple problems

why not. i was married for 18 days. then separated and finally divorced. if you're not happy with what you've got, don't suffer with it. today i'm in a much better and happier situation!! it's all personal taste.

i'm sure the SRT-4 will provide much more enjoyment to someone who really wanted one in the first place!! I drove 2 neons prior to my MP5 and I still think it's a fun car to drive. I don't understand why the Mazda heads are so jealous of the neon and quick to bash it!! Granted, I still prefer my Mazda, but I don't rag on others who have a neon. I would have been in the market for an SRT-4 also if you could have gotten a sunroof as an option and a few other goodies (like power door locks all the way around, and a better stereo).

is canada ever going to get the srt4? I wanted to test drive one before getting the speed, but, none to be found.

by the way, hope you enjoy. Keep us up to date. I'm curious to know of any problems with this car as time passes.

Just be sure..........

you don't go to Dodge to test drive the SRT-4s rear windows. The mother fuckers are crank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (owned)

hehe or go on long trips with the MSP...those things have no cruise control...(owned) lol

*runs away before AGR sends Foster after me*

Yeah , wait till you take the msp on a 400-500 mile trip .. or better yet a 1000 mile trip...
you will want that CC then

i put about 25,000 miles a year on my cars - cruise control is a must, turbo or no turbo. but, as the saying in this thread goes; "it's all about personal taste!" :D
