2011 Tribute (brand new)

Well well, this rig certainly is different that my last. But I needed something bigger with similar payments and similar gas milage. I think it worked out ok. I let 24 hours go by before I let the mod bug bite. Dont say it looks incomplete cause it's not done yet lol.

Anyways, its the base model, but, it does come with p/w, p/l, power & heated mirrors, piano black interior pieces (nice touch), remote starter, got running boards included in the deal (still to be installed), fog lights, and aluminum wheels.

Since there really isnt much after market for this rig, i'm going to shoot for comfort in this rig rather than low and performance of my old car.

Odd ball items:

1. How the hell can one put an aftermarket deck in this thing? The climate control and radio is all one piece.

Edit...I know now thats its not an issue, but you wont have the piano black trim in that area like before once it gets switched out for a metra unit.

Anyways, thanks for viewing, and i'll make THIS my "build" thread.

Pretty nice, you're right, don't see much activity when it comes to the Tribute.

Did a little work this past weekend.

Tinted the reflectors and painted the plate frame black to match the rest. I need to do that chrome strip now and should be good to go.

Need more people interested in this section. I cant even find a decent set of projector headlights for this OR an escape....

I need some input on an issue i've been having since day 1 of buying the rig.

When I press harder than usual on the brake peddle, while driving, the passenger speaker buzzes. As if it were a subwoofer...makes the bbbbbvvvvvvvv sound lol. I'm clueless as to where to start since the dealership "cant replicate the sound" yet it happens EVERY TIME the brake is pressed harder than the normal stopping. What is connected between the brakes and the speakers? Lol, this one is gonan be a doozy.....

Please see post above ^^
Slightly tinted tails....still see the redish in them, so they arnt very bad at all :)

Nice ride! You're right we need more activity in this part of the board. I feel like the only MPV on here. Anyhow, have you removed the door speaker and tried it again? It could be in the speaker itself like a loose wire going to the voice coil or a bad voice coil.

but how would that be affected by pressing in on the brake? And not normal braking, but slightly harder than normal braking lol. And no I havent taken the speaker out causeI really do not want to pull the door panel off. I'd rather make sure that mazda REALLY cant make the sound by going to them again.

True, your car is till under warranty. I tend to think of the older ones and would start taking it apart myself. When I got my MPV I had a rattle in the door. I thought it was the speaker, ended up to be the power window motor. I used lock tite on the screws and it hasn't come loose again.

This is a real noticable BUZZ. and its directly linked to the brakes...its really annoying. And the fact that they said they couldnt replicate the sounds makes me think they didnt even take it for a drive to see....

So odd. Keep me posted on this issue. See if you can take the dealer mechanic for a drive and show him. Then watch his face as he feels stupid! Lol

Still have the buzzing speaker issue. Only when brakes are applied in a firmer manner than usual. When the car has been driven for a long period of time (hour or so), it gets worse to the point of happening whenever the brakes are pressed.

As you can see from my sig, i've added the yellow overlays to the fogs. They look nice lit up at night. Rig is rotten, so dont mind the dirt lol

Speaker is STILL buzzing upon braking. Just passed 60K kms so I guess i'll have to live with it. This 2.5 likes to 'tick' as well doesn't it? Like that's a fairly common thing for a 2.5L Mazda correct?

tick <-- oil related possiblity

for your speaker do you have a spare laying around. if so unplug the offending speaker and hook up your spare and see if it still buzzes
