Traction bars

heh, i work 4 days a week and go to school 2 of the other days....the only day i'm off is sunday....besides, i know the probe suspension is almost identical to mine, i don't know how the protege lower control arm looks in comparison. I would probably have to mach one up on an actual protege in order for me to get the correct dimensions of the frame and control arms....and like i said before, i don't have much time to work with.

But if anyone is in the Kentucky, Indiana, or Cincinatti area that would like to make they're way to Louisville, i'd be more than happy to help in the design process.

I probably could find a machine shop to replicate the design if we did make one for a protege, but the price would undoubtebly go up significantly, and i don't really wanna start a GB if i can't give it 100% of my attention. I might propose the design to protegarage, or speedcircuit, maybe they could start producing them, i just don't have the time though.

whatever you end up doing. i might be down. actually, twilight pro, might wanna start the group buy, so talk w/ him about it.

Well, looked like this thread died. So got a friend of mine to build a honda style traction bar for my P5. Haven't run the car with them yet, but it's definitely very sturdy. Replaces but maintains the front engine mount.

nope, I've posted all that I have. Is there something you're looking for that's not in the pics already posted?

well, a lot seems to have been removed? like the radiator support?

i do love the idea though, ive seen a lot of high hp fwd cars using similar setups with great results, just worried as far as stuff no longer being supported

Radiator support is still there you just can't see it 'cause the traction bar is blocking the view. Only thing that was removed was the Engine C member that the front engine mount sits on. The front engine mount was added onto the traction bar so that engine support is still there.

awesome, and u used the tow bolts as a mounting place? the setup looks very clean, how does it drive?

more pictures looking at different angles would be nice. its nice to see how the fitment is everywhere.

from the pictures that you posted, it looks like a real quality piece.

What durometer motor mount bushing did yall use?

When you referred to testing it, are you taking it to a track or just going to see how it reacts on the street?

Its seems that you have every piece of plastic under tray removed. Was that your choice, or can you not keep all of the under tray installed with the traction bars?

btw, do you have the gtspec front lower tie bar?
