Hi all, like I put in another post, we are looking at a new family wagon, and trying to decide between a CX-50 and CX-70/90.
We have a small camper trailer that we don't use very much but we would like to be able to tow with it. The 70/90 would have no trouble towing it. We would be under the 3,500lb limit of the turbo CX-50 when fully loaded, but not by much. I am curious how folks have found the CX-50's towing capability to work. (I would install a brake controller for the electric trailer brakes.)
(In the past we have used a couple of BMW X5s to tow this trailer (first a 2003 6 cylinder, and then a 2012 turbodiesel) both of which barely noticed the trailer behind it. The Mazda is about the same size as our 2003 X5 was, but the Mazda is a bit lighter and has about 30 more h-pees.)
