Touchless carwashes

So now that I'm all freaked out about my rims, I have a question. Does anyone ever go to these with their Racing Harts on? Namely the Laserwash 4000 typically found at Mobil stations. I was totally impressed when I had my winter wheels on, but I'm curious if the steel things that your cars sits in scratch the wheels

Just curious. Sheesh I am turning into a freak ;).

you are speaking of the guides you drive up through....I have used the Laserwash.....or I will say my wife has....the guide is a lot wider than our wheels....all you have to do is "aim" and not rub the sides....just like you don't want to rub a curb....they fit in there fine....no problems.

Ok cool, and seeing as how I like to hit curbs, this could be dangerous ;). Oh well. I think I'll continue to use the Laserwash and just be CAREFUL :p Thanks Sir Nuke!

I tried touchless car wash twice with my MP3 & it didn't work well at all - the lower portion near the ground effect stays as dirty as when I enter the car wash. I wouldn't go with my winter or summer tires anymore! Time for a hand wash ...

I've always been impressed with the touchless carwash. I get the $5 with fillup one that does the under-body blast and all. It has gotten rid of lots of salt each time. Its about all I've got living in an apartment without any hose hookups etc. Thats why I want to find a private entrance/private garage apartment for next year.

For the record, I did it last night with my Racing Harts on. No problem, just gotta keep 'er straight :).

I've never brought my MP3 to a touchless car was, but I've brought previous ones in the past and always found that while they washed the majority of dirt off, they don't come close to what you can do with a normal cleaning on your own.

I live in an apartment too doomer so I feel your pain. If you buy a couple good sized buckets tho, you should be able to do the hand cleaning yourself if you are willing to haul the water. :)
