I was doing some gymkhana, and I tried part of the course in reverse, for some reason when you hit 4k rpms the tranny slams the car into neutral, it sounded like i broke my trans! i thought i was going to need dif #4! anybody have this happen?

the fastest ive ever gone in reverse was like 20 mph. the tranny sounds like it wants to kill itself....

i dont see why you would want to try this lol..i also dont know what gymkhana is.

anyway sounds like a recipe for disaster lol

whenever i'm in reverse and i push the clutch in while it's still moving backwards i get this horrible grinding noise as if i don't have it in gear fully...but i do. any ideas?

Reverse sucks when you hit boost. It's almost like your going to hit your head on the glass or the steering wheel. How fast is 4k in reverse anyways?

I heard if you drive in reverse you actually start to lose miles instead of gaining them...

For those who own a vehicle, or have owned a vehicle, where reverse didn't work, this is like a direct slap in the face...

Wow I can't remember the last time I laughed when reading a entire thread. Freakin halarious. I've had it up to around 3k before just because my buddys driveway is really long, but I've only done it fast once. It does sound like a recipe for disaster.

does anyone else have the balls to try it? maybe it's just my car! There was one part on the course where you have to stop in a box and back out of it, the finish line is really close, so most of us were finishing the course in reverse. I was finishing it in reverse until my car did that! I tried doing a james bond turn, and my car did the same thing.

You shouldn't have to go that fast to do a J turn. Helps when the cars an automatic too. A little easier and don't have to worry about the stall.

who would want to go that fast in reverse anyways?
kinda stupid if you ask me.

reading is fun.

What is Gymkhana:

Gymkhana is about "control".
Gymkhana is primarily done on an open paved field or parking lot. The course is laid out with cones in key points to navigate to. The obstacle will often consist of slaloms, 180 degree turns, 360 degree turns, figure 8s, and some time parking boxes. The drivers goals is the get through the course and fast a possible with the least amount of mistakes. Gymkhana requires strong mental concentration and memorizing of the track, where you have to go and do next. The driver will use many techniques to effectively go through a course. Acceleration, braking, drifting & grip driving are all necessary for Gymkhana. Widely popular internationally, in Europe, Malaysia, Australia, and Japan.
