top speed in 2nd gear??

I got so frustrated, I only got 80 kph (50 mph) at 6000 rpm in 2nd gear, I have seen videos that mark 95 kph (60 mph)...
my mazda 2 is relative new, odometer is 3155 km (1960 miles)

Is there something wrong?? I have change the wheels to lightwheels konig minuz (11.8 lbs) and change the rear exhaust to hks silent... I think the car acelerates more before changing the wheels, but i also do an alignment and it dont make sense, or maybe I abuse of the motor??

I think the max 95kph is for A/T... what do you have?

oh sorry, I have manual (1 2 3 4 5 and R), mazda sport 1.5,

the videos i have seen are manual too. automatic doesnt supposed to be more slowers?

not that A/T is faster but it has longer gear ratio thus 2nd gear can reach up to 95, 3rd up to ~140, 4th maybe up to ~170

I get near to 90 km with mine, but that is pushing close to red line at autoX.

^What he said. I think it hits the cut at around 95 or so (wasn't really looking last time it happened).

The euro spec 1.5(same as jdm) with real revlimit at 6500rpm (about 6800 at tacho) hits 95-98km/h depending on the tyre size.
The euro spec 1.3 have longer fgr(3.9) so they hit 100++ with 2nd gear.
The 1.5 us spec models have lower revlimit and that's why they have less speed at the revlimit.I don't know in peru what specs do the cars have, maybe us spec.

by the way I have the 185/55R15 size tires, and i thinkin in change it to 195/50 size.

With my auto, 1st goes to 40, 2nd goes to 60 and third goes too 100 then overdrive..

recently I got 56 mph in 2nd gear, with 6500 rpm.

the red zone starts at ~6300 rpm.
