Took it to the track today :(

I thought that our cars would have a little more go than it did.

I've never raced my car so after three trips down the 1/4 mile I ended up with a 17.8 @ 76mph. I got better after each run.

Atleast I beat a Civic Si. The other two were suped up Mustangs. One pulled a freakin 12.? at 111mph. DOH.

Anyone else been to the track? What were your times?

I will never take my P5 to the strip, what would be the point? She sure as s*** ain't no drag car.

I WILL take it to many SCCA races though.

My Reaction time was .279. That's not bad is it?
My 60 ft was 2.496.

This has nothing to do with my shifter or shifting. Well....maybe a little, but not that much.

Matthew....what are stock times?

acctually, if you had a 2.4 60' and you ran a 17.8, it has ALOT to do with your shifting...stock 5 speeds should be in the high 16's i believe, with a good driver.

matt it could be the track, i've had two other people try and we cant get lower than 16.5 in my mp3 with ss intake and resonator removed. thunder valley sux, i need to take it to texas motorplex

you redlighted if your reaction was a .2 or whatever. 2.5 60ft is pretty bad. but it was your first time, did you launch at all?

MP3skaterNC-- not all tracks have the .500 perfect reation times...some are lower.

My 1/4 time in my P5 with an AEM CAI and a Mazdaspeed axleback was 16.7 at 81 mph. Needless to say it isn't much different than stock.

Actually they changed the way they record reaction times. Now a 0.00 light is a .500. It's offset from there. So a .279 is a .729. Not horrible. Not great. 17.8 is pretty slow. I ran a 17.45 in 90+ degree weather with similar 60's, bone stock, at an uphill track. And I'd never launched a FWD at the track.

dude dont worry about it youll get better. come on guys he said it was his first time let it go. you should go the turbo route so even if you still suck youll still be pulling better than stock times. i ran with the mods in my sig a 14.5 at 98 mph w/ no traction in the first two gears and half way through third i need an lsd bad anyone have one they want to loan me for a few years.
