Ok, I am going to brag a bit here, so hold on. My son (just got his license and just learned a stick)and I attended a SCCA ax school on Saturday, then entered a full out (on an air force base in Louisiana) auto cross, featuring a fairly fast out and back course. One of my friends with a STX e30 m3 was blinding fast in the dry, right behind him was another friend who's last name is Blitz,( honest), was a second or so behind him. I was right up there, even in novice class. Wasn't really pushing hard in the dry.
Then the equalizing wet stuff arrived! Rain, on the old abandoned runway, now a skating rink! Oh boy! Well, my smoothness came through, no cones, and a second behind the Blitz dude, and about 3 seconds faster than the dry fast e30 m3! Even the Subies in mod weren't close!
First place novice, D stock. Oh yea, my son took fifth out of about fifteen or so. Great fun! Thanks Mazda!
Godspeed!
