TomTom GPS Fix

I received an email from Tom Tom today saying they have a download for a GPS fix since my unit has been having issues with this. I did not solicit the email from Tom Tom, so apparently it must have resulted from my latest update of my SD card from my TomTom Nav1. I will try it and let the forum know if it fixes the problem. My unit has had 2 occasions over the past 3 weeks where the unit would not get a GPS fix on startup until about a half hour or so later or until the vehicle was shut down for an while. A quick shut off and startup of the vehicle did no good. We will see if the fix download cures the problem or not.

In short, I think that email was just a broadcast to all TomTom users, as I got it twice, once for my NB1 account and once for my TomTom One account. Anyway, here's hoping it fixes your issue, if you manage to get the update downloaded.

It's not a gps fix per se.
It's been available since tomtom home has existed.
it's a feature called gpsfix. fix as in the fixed location of the gps satellites. it's not a fix as in it fixes a problem/issue.
It's recommended you plug in your sd card to a computer and update the gpsfix file once a week. Why? because it will put a file on there that predicts where the satellites are in the sky so it can get a gps fix (connection) faster.
