Thanks to everyone on this board for all of the help. I will be the owner of a CX-9, Grand Touring in a few hours. I'm excited and pretty nervous.

I'm anxious to explore BlueTooth, the iPod connectivity, navigation (since I'm a fan of Onstar) and the overall feel of it. I bought this one sight unseen. (nailbyt) I'm hoping I'm smart enough to open the doors and start the car with the Advanced keyless system. And, I hope my experience is as wonderful as most of the reviews I've read here and other places.

I'm sure I'll be back with questions.

The CX-9 navigation and OnStar have nothing in common.

By "ipod connectivity" do you mean that you also got the ipod integration kit as well or do you mean you just want to listen to your ipod through the cars speakers? (which can be done via Bluetooth or AUX cable)

congrats on the new car! i hope you love it! my bro has a cx7 and he looooooooooves it, so i imagine the cx9 is like a cx7 but only better? lol :)

Do not forget to give us your first impressions on every detail of this great car. Let us accompany you from the dealer’s to home or anywhere you plan to go.

I got it late last night, so here are my initial impressions. I am a mom of 3 with zero technical ability, so this will be a raw review of a lot of cosmetic stuff. :)

The Good: Absolutely does drive like a sports car. Wow, what performance. Great looking exterior. Great looking interior. Love the back-up camera so far. Nice sunroof. Excited about Bluetooth although I haven't figured it out, yet. My iPod works with the aux. port. Woohoo!! I like the way it lights up at night. Love the black interior!!!

The Bad: The lack of storage is disappointing. Why are there no cupholders in the second row doors? I have three kids who will often sit on the same row and they would have no cupholders at all with someone in the middle seat. I chose the black leather interior and don't like the light gray interior roof. The window controls are too far away. Why does the window lock also lock the driver's controls? I have hit my head a time or two and I'm only 5'7".

The Ugly: There does seem to be some movement of the mirrors....almost gives me a bit of motion sickness. Does this go away? Do you get used to it? My husband doesn't feel it, so it might be all in my head after over researching this purchase. :)

the rear view or side view mirrors move? how often are you staring at them to get motion sickness? dont forget about the windshield your suppose to be looking out of ;)

Storage in general is not a strong point but the lack of cupholders in the CX-9 2nd row is a big problem for a family hauler. There are, in theory, bottle holders in the bottoms of each rear door but they are awkwardly shaped and in a place where no child who is restrained in a car/booster seat will ever be able to reach. The only real cupholders are in the armrest which, as you mention, is not available when you have someone in the center seat or if you have a car seat on either side. The punchline is the 3rd row that has 4 easily accessible cupholders for only 2 seats. My 3 year old was back there this weekend and noted, "I have 2 cupholders!"
