To polish or not to polish(lip)

I've noticed the trend nowadays is to get either get gunmetal,hyperblack/silver rims w/ a polished lip.Now,I seriously don't get what's special about the polished lip??Probably a stupid question,but I'm just curious.

you guessed exactly what it is. it's a trend, just like clothes. at least it's a nice trend. i remember going to the philippines in 92 and the trend at the time was baseball helmets, yeah... not caps, batting helmets. people were wearing ******* helmets in the middle of the hot humid summer. worst... trend.... ever....

yup polished lip. I've always liked these types of rims even before it became the new trend. Hopefully another trend will come along soon so that there wont be soo many around

i've seen those on cars and they're kinda...eh. they look good when you're looking at them directly, but from an angle, you can see the spokes bend inwards to create the lip and it doesn't look too flattering.

Definatly a trend..kinda like getting massive Chromed was a while ago. I personally always liked the look...but now that it's the hot ticket item I'm thinking of getting something else this spring..even though I always wanted dark rim polished lip..I may end up getting something else...I saw a nice bronze rim that'd loook tits on the ride.
