To keep or not to keep

well i have been going back and forth on whether or not to keep the stock racing harts and get them fixed (curb damage from previous owner) or just go and buy new ones. if i keep the stocks rims i was thinking about powder coating them black just to give my car a whole different look. just wondering on what everyone else thought? get new rims or keep stock ones and get them fixed and maybe repainted?

well off hand i think that 3 of them need it. i think one of them is still mint.

i think powdercoated they look GREAT, for a referance, you can check out the pics in my sig., but depending on how bad they are, it may not be worth it... mine cost $450 for everything, i had alittle curb rash here and there from the previous owner, but now they look brand new...

I think keeping them is better than getting rid of them. They go for about $450 a pop from the dealership. Yes the are heavy, crappy offset that sucks them closer to the car, but at the end of the day, they are nice stock rims. My justification is that if I ever sell the car, I want the stock rims to go with it.

How do they fix curb rash any ways?

You can either fix curb rash with some Bondo or you can take it to a wheel repair place in your area.

I'm also keeping my factory wheels for when I get rid of it. Plus the factory installed tires will probably also go with it. I have a set of summer wheels and winter wheels so the factory wheels are just stacked up in the garage.

Get them fixed professionally and look into Black-chroming them. A buddy of mine did this to a set of Konig's, and they look incredible! I like the stock titanium look - obviously, LOL - but I would really like some black chromies too. You may be able to get the same effect by mixing clear coat and black base coat together.

yeah i did want mine rims chrome black. i think i am just gonna get this done cause i will still have the originals but it would be different from the rest

Dag. I didn't think about that before I sold mine... Guess I'd better keep teh car forever...
