I was wondering if i should heat wrap my CS DP before i install it this weekend... I have a ton, but all that i have to do is the PG mani, so i want to find a use for the rest...

Any suggestions?

i recommend wraping it.the heat that the wrap holds inside makes the exhaust flow quicker, and keeps underhood temps down.do it while it's not installed.a little hard to put on after install

I was thinking that it would surely keep the temps down under the hood...

Its no big deal right now because the CS DP is sitting in my computer room...right next to the 50' of heat wrap and sealant...(boom03)

I just dont want any cracking going on...

as long as your downpipe is stainless steel,it's okay.if it's just aluminum, wrap it and they sell a spary in a can to seal it and to weather-proof the tubing.otherwise, yeah,it'll crack if you wrap it bare,aluminum.....i'd give it 2-3 years before failure.sgtainless steel man,the way to go.you cold also send it to be dipped(inside and out)in jet coat.dissipates heat well and dipping the inside has it's aerodynamic benefits,a little smoother than raw aluminum

I got the heatwrap kit from Sumit Racing it came with the tape, some sort of silicone spray, and metal ties... i think i'm going to try it out and see what happens...

header wrap tends to collect and trap water in it which can cause rusting. if you wrap wrap from bottom up that way water is not as likely to get traped in a seam as it flows down.
