Greetings d00des!

I'm new to these parts. I've been lurking around for a month or so while my account status was in purgatory for whatever reason, I spose the owners are/were busy.

I'm new to mazdaraties, I was actually a honda accord driver for a long time. I guess I like family cars, or maybe I'm weird. (dunno) Either way, I do love this car tho, it's a blast to drive. And this seems like a really cool community, which is more than I can say for most honda communities...

For those of you in the washington DC area, I'll see you at the Zoom Zoom live event next weekend. I'll be in one of the (many) red pro5's.

paul

I dunno, I registered a while ago and I just received the email confirming that I was 'allowed' to post.

whatever tho, I'm here for good now muwhaha MUWHAHAH

Oh yeah, what are the rep points about, is it for people who make positive contributions to the site? And why do some people have red colored meters where others are green?

the more green the more rep points that others have given them. the red is for neg rep points. usually cuz they say stupid s*** on the boards or whatever.

BTW, pretzellogic your car looks like sex.

What paint did you use to black out the M in your grill?

welcome and hope you find this site as useful and cool as I have. although there are its downs but that goes with any forum.

Thanks. :D

Paint is actually high-temp barbecue paint that I used to black out my headlights. It's over a coat of automotive primer.

Welcome. And yes, much to be learned inhere. I believe your delayed approval was due to a couple of glitches in the system where the ubermods have been having to manually go through all requests because some have been not getting automated ones. If you know of anyone else in that position have them e-mail Antione about tha matter. Sorry, but glad you stuck it out. This truely is one of the nicest/most educated car communitites out there. Bonus is through your lurking I'm sure you've answered the noob questions by yourself and we don't need to tell you about searching, etc. ;)

Well, i'm a mod over at www.accordinglydone.com so I know things can get weird when new people join. I also know all about searching for stuffs. :D

So far the best thing that happened through lurking was that I found out about the Kartboy shift bushings, and for $20 beans what could be better?! (first) Eventually, I'll buy the short shifter. I definately do miss the shift action of the accord, but whatever.

pretzellogic, thanks for the heads up - i'll have to stop by home depot.

At the risk of bludgeoning the dead horse..

Pull off the side panel of the drivers dash (between the dash and the door), it's just clips and pulls directly off. You'll access the wiring behind the fog light switch here. Look up under the dash, above where your left foot sits. There's four electronic boxes, the smallest (Black) one is the fogs relay. Feel it click as you turn the fogs on and off from the switch. Find the red wire going into the relay, and cut it. Connect a piece of wire to the red wire going into the relay, and run it up to the fog switch. Insulate the other end (no short circuits here). At the fog switch, tap that new wire into the light green/black wire, and you're done. Now the fogs come on with parking lights and headlights. They'll still shut off with high beams, though. I'm still working on that solution.
That part about just insulating the red wire I don't get. Do you just leave it hang'n there?

The rest of this seems pretty straight forward, but I don't fuxor with electronics so if there are some clearer directions that I missed, I'd appreciate them.

It's essentially useless now, so yea just leave it hanging. I'd atleast electrical tape it off. I would generally tape it along side another wire aswell.

"the red is for neg rep points. usually cuz they say stupid s*** on the boards or whatever"...........................

..........More like for pissing off titty babies who said something stupid to begin with. What do rep points buy anyway? More red please!.............
