i know this is a huge debate between which one is better but after alot of thought i think there are some issues

with an fmic during winter weather will this mean trouble with hydrolocking?
is there something that can be done during the switch between winter and summer to avoid this?
if the speed3 is going to be winter driven will a upgraded tmic be the better option? can the ets 3.5" tmic handle a bigger turbo?

any help will be greatly appreciated

thanks

if you are able to draw water into a front mount intercooler i would say that it is a very poor core prone to leaks and pressure loss. severe pressure loss. as stated, its a closed system so you run no risk of pulling water into it versus a top mount.

why would an fmic be an issue in the winter it doesn't suck air into it. An intercooler is just a large radiator for air instead of liquid. On another note we use the 3.5 inch tmic on our big turbo speed6 with no troubles. Could a tmic be better possibly but right now we are happy with the ets unit.

oohok i thought it be a problem since the ms3 tends to be a snowplow with a front lip

The only way to truely know is if you tested both with the same core and tested them out in an average of say 3-5 runs under the same conditions. I believe they will do the same exact thing, if they are the same size. i just think the tmic will heaksoak a little faster. Though the core used for the tmic kits is far from the same used in any of the fmic kits. So no way to truely tell. You could compare brands though. Like say ets 3.5 tmic vs. the corksport fmic. Both with a fan on them and an average of 3 runs back to back. I should have kept my tmic to test out that. Would have been fun.
