I recently got the enkei 5+ rims(17's) and it was all working out well, no rubbing or anything. But when I had some friends in my car, the rear passenger tire rubs. The weird part is that it rubs on the side of the tire, like on the lettering. I dont know what to do, if i got lowering springs would that help, stiffer springs? I donno any suggestions would help.

in effect, by putting the extra weight in your ride, your friends, you lowered the car.....THEY compressed your suspension, so getting lowering springs with your current wheel/tire combination you may start rubbing there all the time. ONE solution to your problem would be to take your car to a GOOD body shop and have them roll the fender lip.

I don't know what my offset is. As dumb as I may sound I don't even know what that is.

and just how much were they rubbing? just barely? well if that was the case...and depending on the wheel....you MIGHT be able to have the mating surface of wheels machined...where the wheel goes up against the hubs/discs....just that little bit more to INCREASE the offset...which will move the wheels position into the wheel well and eliminate the rubbing.

go to Yahoo, or Google or which ever search engine you use and do a search with

wheel offset then start reading.
