I ran a tire calculator for you real quick and here are the results for comparison:
195/50-16 (Stock)
Diameter: 23.7"
Sidewall: 3.8"
205/45-16
Diameter: 23.3"
Sidewall: 3.6"
As you can see, the sidewall of the new tire you are looking at is .2" smaller than stock so you will get that much more wheel gap. It's not a whole lot and probably won't be noticeable.
If you go with these tires let me know how they fit on the stock rims and if they change the ride at all. This is one of the sizes I am considering too. I either want to go with the 205/45-16 or 205/50-16.
Thanks,
Andy

TexP5 said:Hey this is a good thread for me, I've gotta get tires right now. I'm leaning toward Yokohama AVS in 205/45/16 on OEM wheels.
I've never done any Plus Sizing with my tires and I'm a little paranoid. Has anyone used that exact tire on a 2002 Protege? Also, does the lower profile tire make the wheel well gaps look too big???
