Tire recommendations?

I can confirm they work MUCH better than the factory 'stones. They reduce torque and bump steer, ride quality is better, max dry grip is at least equivalent, wet-weather performance far better. It's the type of tire the car should have come with.

The only complaint I have is they don't feel super sharp and precise. This can sap confidence slightly but, it is still actually delivering what's needed. It's a trade-off for the fantastic improvement in torque and bump steer character.

I suppose reduced response would mean reduced response, whether it's from a desired steering input or bump steer input or torque steer input.
Not sure what to think now because I love how the car handles with stock tires, all undesirable inputs aside. The sharp steering response is what makes the car fun.
Probably makes the car ride better though.

No it's really just a feel thing. In the real world of cratered pavement, truck ruts and road debris, whatever helps the car keep its line through the turn and deliver power to the pavement makes it better, in my book. The -50s were fine, on hot days and glass smooth roads but, pretty pathetic at anything else. They just weren't right for a wrong wheel drive car.

Yeah I was looking at the EVO's and heard a lot of great stuff about them plus the price is good! I was going to get them yesterday but didn't have time and now its raining hard in San Diego and I have 20% tread left so I have been driving at 60. California people do not know how to drive in the rain here...Sorry to say!
