i'm soon going to have to purchase new tires as mine are close to the wear indicators. i wanted to buy new wheel as well but its not looking like i can do both right now.

so my question is, whats the best size tire to put on stock wheels that would be able to go on a 18x8 wheel? my friend recommended i should go with 235/40 tire but thought i'd come here to get sme advice.

I got wheels from a RX8 with 18x8 and i put 225/40/18, it fits good but if i had my time back i would of went with 235 or 245 to make it look proper

Uh good luck fitting 235/40 on the stock wheels. Too big, you'll get some hefty bulge, and who knows if any shop will risk it.

if you are on stock stick with either the 215/45 or 225/40.

hey guys, i'm also looking at getting new tires.
I see you mention 225/40 is ok for stock wheels, but the specs of the tires i'm looking at buying say that 225/40/18 fits on 7.5 to 9" wheel. The 225/45/18 fit on 7-8.5

I'm thinking of ordering a set of 225/40r18 anyway. i assume that if 225/45 fits on a 7" wheel, 225/40 should be ok but i thought i'd take a chance and ask in here

lemme know what you think. thanks!

yes 225/40 fit on stock ms6 wheels, i have had them for my last two sets, and my current evo12s.

225/45 can also fit for a bit more sidewall, provided you are at stock height.
