Tire paint ?

Hey..any of you added white touch up paint to your tires ?
The Dupi color paint on tires sucks...it got bad reviews.

Hmm, that's not as bad looking as I thought it would be. Although I don't think I would do it myself. Looks like it belongs more on professional racing cars, not daily drivers, but to each his own.

i've read somewhere that someone used Testor's model paint in a pen, and that worked pretty good.....dunno how long it lasts though. i wouldn't think it lasts long cause of it just being painted on.... i would clean the hell out of the tires before applying the paint....hard scrubbing and a very good tire cleaner.

it's difficult to do with used tires, since the brake dust gets caked and then burnt on.. Scotch brite pads and dawn/simple green work best.

There is a good write up on team-integra.net in the articles section. Basically blue painters tape, cut out the letters and mask off the rest, finally paint as desired. And prep of course.

White sidewall paint will of course work, as will any white paint that has flexing properties. (I'm not sure what I just said.)

Its on a new set of tires..that are not mounted yet.

I like what the kid on team integra did...i think I am gonna go one step further and add some primer..before painting.
will post results in a few weeks...need to wait for temp to go up to 65

yeah. he prepped it good....sucks that after all that, you can't put armor all on your tires.....

that srtFO' is pretty clean.. i've thought about doing the white lettering on my falkens a few times but i dont think im going to. i think it works on the 615's though because it has such an aggressive looking sidewall.
