The LSD is butter unless it's welded. The vibration and slip, grab, slip can be detrimental but it's better than crashing and dieing or getting stranded and freezing to death. You choose because I don't know where you are and tire chains are only used in certain areas. Most people in those areas use a summer set and a winter set. The winter set is Blizzaks, Alpins, etc (strictly snow).
