Tire and brake usage, please share your experience

All,

I've just taken my 6 months old CX-9 in for 7500 miles service. I noticed the service report says that front brakes are at 12/32, rear 10/32 and tires 9/32.

If I were to read this the way I assume it's to be read, it means in another 6 months and 7500 miles, the brake pads and tires will have to be replaced! I've read elsewhere in this forum that somebody replaced their OEM tires at 39000 miles, the way it is going with my tires, it doesn't seem like they will last that long.

Could somebody share your experience, are these common usage patterns? FYI, I don't race or peeled out, I do occasionally enjoy the strong pull the 263 HP engine produced :-)

Do we have how-to measure brake pads and tires thread post on this forum somewhere?

Thank you.

Its not normal for ANY vehicle to wear the rear brakes quicker than the front, unless you drive around with the park brake on!
Do your tyres look that warn? or are they wearing uneven?

Not necessarily true. I replaced the rear brakes on my Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln LS before the front brakes. This was normal per the Escalade and LS forums I hung out at.

Either you drove everywhere in reverse or that model had thinner pads on the rear
