Tips for buying a msp!?

considered a protege5? may work out better for your situation. I am also slightly in your situation switching between the protege5 and the MSP. MSP is nice has it already is turbo, suspension is upped, lsd and such. But the protege5 has more truck space which might suit your lifestyle. A lot more around the chose from and if your like me, really care more about handling performance and fun rather than raw power. Plus if you do decide in the future yo want more power you can turbo/forge/welded lsd at the same time. rather than needing to replace the lsd and forge the engine on a msp.
Just a consideration as you said you wanted a protege

I do like the protege5. My wife, though thinks they look like a station wagon. They are NOT a station wagon! Lol. I am keeping my eye open for one, they're even harder to find with low miles. Since there are so many around here with high mileage and super cheap, I've been contemplating getting one and replacing the engine.

You could consider an mp3, it's basically a turbo less msp
