so I'll be purchasing a turbo inlet later tonight, and I was wondering what you guys thought. Should I go COBB or Protege garage? What are pros/cons to each piece?

I have corksport inlet in my car and i have no problems with it

i know guys who have PG inlet and COBB inlet never heard them complaining

i think that the only pro COBB might have is its easier to install (not by much tho)

Definately get the PG one. I have tried all 3 inlets (CPE,COBB,PG). The cobb / cpe are the same pretty much. They didn't fit well at all with my injen CAI. The mouth where you connect the intake to the inlet is huge on the COBB inlet. So they provide this metal "coupler" to use as a transition from the huge inlet to the small intake. It adds about 2 inches of length to your CAI which makes lining up the intake bracket a real PITA. It was such a bad fit that I returned it. Bought a PG inlet and it fits much easier. Install was a bit easier as well. Also your car will sound better with the all metal intake :).

(dance) thanks man

The PG. It provides the same performance at a fraction of the cost. Also makes a sweet jet turbine like noise when in boost.

COBB COBB COBB! Seriously. Fits like a glove, doesn't sit on any hoses between the engine and firewall, and sounds awesome!!!

I did not like the way the PG Inlet fit, the couplers never seemed to entirely seal with the metal inlet, or if it did, it'd kink the couplers.

That and, you don't want any metal surprises.

Turbos are not:

LOL nice! Turbos are insanely powerful. Think of them as vacuums on steriods...a LOT of steriods. They suck harder than hookers.

OP - I ran the Cobb inlet with an MS CAI (MS6 model) and had no fitment issues. It doesn't stick out farther than normal if you don't let it. The metal sleeves can be slid in further if need be to adjust.

Steve, I adjusted the metal sleeves based on exactly how the stock TIP was. I put them side-by-side, adjusted the sleeves, tightened them down and walah. It was in like flint..(upbum)

Dammit. This has not helped at all. I want the PG one because I can get wrinkle red, it costs less, and it is supposed to sound cool, also, Ken claims a 6 degree cooler intake temp.

...But I have heard there can be fitment issues, and thats where the COBB comes in. I have the MS CAI, so I dont really want any sizing surprises.

I am leaning towards the PG...

Color isn't a big deal, you really can't see it on the MS3 because of packaging. 6 degree ambient temp. change is negligible too. Not saying it's a bad part, but I'd go with the Cobb.

Agreed with everything Steve said. Color is negligible. You won't ever see it. If anything, you're begging for the dealer to notice. Also, the temp claims are negligible.

We wouldn't steer you wrong, and we know what we're talking about.
