tinting windows

I want to get my windows tinted. I live in Pennsylvania and was wondering if anyone knows about tinting the back window. Is tinting the back window legal?

As far as I know tinting the back window in any state is allowed. The question is how dark can you go? A local tint shop will be able to answer all of these questions.

70 is extremely light...some automotive green glass is already close to that color from factory....50% fronts in my state seems like barely anything...70 wouldnt be much.

Depends on how strict they actually are...id ask around locally with people you know and see who if any gets nagged by the popo.

I know that at least here in va you can get pulled over for your tint being too dark. Best bet is to check with whatever shop you plan on having the work done at. If its a good shop they'll tell you what the best plan is.

If you are restricted to a high VLT film in your state then think about getting a ceramic film instead of a metallic one. It costs more, but will do profoundly better with heat rejection.

For example when my car was tinted I had a choice of:
20% metalized with 50% HR
40% ceramic with 80% HR
90% ceramic with 90% HR

So even the film which allowed 90% of the light through still blocked nearly twice as much heat as the more than four-times darker metalized film.
