i did a 20% on the front two windows and 18% all around and it looks great
just dark enough to give me the privacy i wanted with out the cops harassing me

I voted for even all the way around. I know this will be the first thing that gets done to the 5. I'm thinking 35% (state legal here) all the way around, from the same shop I've been using for 15 years now. I like the look of 20% better, but hated having to roll down the windows in the Country to see what's coming down the roads.

so is there any downside to having the same level all the way around? Also is the higher percentage darker? I'm looking into getting tints for my P5 and I want it to look uniform.

i wanted to do uniform tinting but my state does not allow that..

front ones are 50% (that is 50% light goes through ) and rear ones are 20%(that is only 20% light goes through)..

lower number of % means "darker" the tint is..

Oky Rex... i will try to get the pics ASAP(band2)

Why doesn't the state allow uniform tinting? If all the tints are within the legal limit, whats the issue?

Driver's visibility, specifically front windows (i.e. been able to see mirrors at 100%). Driver does not critically need 2nd row nor back windows to drive, but the front ones (plus windshield), yes. All tinting is legal, but at different levels depending of the window location as I understand. Possibly that is why all OEM tinting (i.e. CX-9) comes only for 2nd row and back windows.

Hi,

I'm new here and my madza 5 sport 2008. please let me know the prices for tinting our car, I'm from MA which required 35%. I just need prices before I go to shop. Thanks!

I voted no on the front and medium on rear....thats what I ahve done because of legalities, and it looks MUCH better than no tint...and the tint on the rear makes the front look a little darker. i have 30 percent on the rear...

I live in WA State. The tint guy told me our laws indicate 35% front and 15% rear. Any thoughts on that combination for my 2008 Stormy Blue Mica? Or, what about just 35% all around?

thats the law here in ontario i just got 35 front and 15 on the rest and it looks nice. also got it done for around 150$ cheaper because of winter special and it has not bubbled or any problems occured. if its winter were you are look for a special alot places put them on to attract more sales in the wintertime

Hey, does anyone know if it is possible to use tint on the tail lights? I've seen the spray and heard it fades and can't be removed. Also there was the vinyl tail light tint, but I couldn't find a shop that would do it anywhere (attempted to do it myself but failed miserably) So any suggestions?

not sure i tried this weekend to do it i dont have the patients. i here that the vinyls rinckle and you can rub them out but when the tint rinckled it riped so i gave up

I believe I'm at 20% in the back

And 50% on the two front window's.... I may have a little added to go a little darker in the front...

This Thread is useless without Pics.

Kudos to dfskinner and dreamym5 for the info of what they did with examples of their tinted Mazda5.

Outside of that, where's the "This thread is useless without Pics" imacon when you need it?
