Tint: trouble with the cops....

I know the issue is universal, but just wanted to get a feel from VA people, and how our popo's may set their ticketing priorities.

on my last car i had 20% all around and yes they will ticket you, lol why wouldnt they? It is illegal! there is no maybe's if something is against the law you will and can get ticketed for it... ha whyd you ask this question?

The law allows for disgression among the officers. If youre acting like a jackass and give the officer a hard time you deserve to be ticketed.

Technically, 95% of the s*** you do to your car you can be ticketed for...have you gotten a ticket for each mod you've done or seen had done?

Just like people don't typically get pulled for going 5mph over the speed limit, I want to know how lenient they are in regards to the window tint.

Well, I just got busted for not having my county tax sticker. Yes, I am getting it taken care of. But the cop didn't say a word about my tint and I've got 35% all around, including the front windows.

man chill out... and its a known fact that illegal tint and even no front lisense plate your going to get a ticket.. its just a fact. The other little things are no biggie but for now cops care about anything and everything about the appearence of your car. TONS of my friends and people i have talked to get pulled over for anything and everything. Maybe your just one of the lucky ones.... while we arent. I got a ticket for tint and exhaust and i wasnt doing anything abnormal on the road.. reason why i got pulled over just like anyone else is..... i had something illegal on my car. heck my friend got a ticket for having hids and he even told the cop he took them off an evo since he owns a gst.

I have no license because of the cops in nova, i'm trying to avoid any further unncecessary bulls***

the legal limits for black window tinting looks like a piss thru greyish green and i'm debating the yellow tint

i wouldnt do it..... the nova law is 35 back window and sides.... and front windows 50 and none on the front windshild... you dont want anymore tickets and tint alone will cost you 150-200 just to do it... its just going to give you more chances of getting pulled over...

I dont think the Colored tint will be any less Noticable by the "Man" I have 35% on the 2 Side Windows of my Truck, and the Factory 20% in the Rear with a Sheet of 50% over top of it.....Havent had any trouble for the past 2 years.....

My CRX has some cheapo 20% Tint on it, and havent been bothered in that either.....

VA isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be......Long as you have a Front plate, and not driving like a Maniac....or less of a Maniac then the rest of the Drivers around here....your pretty safe.

Just try to blend in as best you can.....Oh BTW, Rob(REMillers) has 35% Tint all the way around on his P5 and hasn't been bothered once.....

Personally I think you should go for 35% all the way around....Its dark enough you Notice it, and at Night you can't see in the car.....Any darker and your just asking to be pulled over......I have had my Fair Share of Tint Tickets....had 5% all the way around on my old Ford....Everyother week I got nailed......Just isn't worth the hassel....

Va Law says 50% on the Front Windows, 35% on the Rear Window(If applicable), and as long as you have 2 Sideview mirrors you can go as dark as you want in the Rear.

I doubt a cop will pull you over purely for Tint if thats the only thing you have "done" wrong unless its ridiculously dark.

I also have 35 on all the sides and I have 20 on the back hatch.. the guy at the tint shop told me that wagons can technically be bit darker in the back and still be legal.

well first of all i have to say that joe never said you CANT get a ticket....but yeah ive been driving around with no front license plate for over 11months now....it ended this morning i got fed up of gettin nervous everytime i see a damn cop....and now that its really nice out and all the kiddie high school ricers are out......in fx you see them everywhere.....so i put it back on but it looks better now....still now holes just put it on the bottom grill...ceej gave me the idea......im going for 35%all around and um joe if you get anymore tickets ill be having a nice conversation with your parents and shall i say ill probably be getting your rims ....jk man....NO MORE TICKETS JESUS!
