Timing chain guides

Hey guys i was at my bro's dealership and he noticed my timing chain was making alot of noise so we went over to mazda and talked to the techs, they were saying that the guides are worn out and it's causing the chain to rattle around and that if i dont change the guides it's going to start skipping timing or something and could potentially lead to engine going boom. So does anyone know if there are any aftermarket timing guides that are stronger and last longer than the factory plastic ones?

nope... you might want to check if its the tensioner pulley making noise

I think it's the guides cause my car has been running funny for a few months now since it started rattling and now that i think about it the timing chain makes sense but how would i check the tensioner?
